BIOGRAPHY

Mark Nowotarski is the President of Markets, Patents & Alliances L.L.C. Markets, Patents & Alliances helps clients commercialize their innovations by preparing and prosecuting patent applications, conducting market research, and providing training programs. Markets, Patents & Alliances currently serves clients in the software, medical and electronics industries.

Mr. Nowotarski is a former Associate Director of R&D for Praxair. There he oversaw the development and successful worldwide introduction of new products into the respiratory health care, electronics manufacturing, materials processing, food processing, and hazardous waste industries. He also established several successful licensing programs with major universities including Stanford, Carnegie Mellon, SUNY Stony Brook, and the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.

Mark is the inventor or co-inventor on 17 US patents. He is a licensed US patent agent. His inventions are producing over $65 million per year in revenue for Praxair. He has won numerous special recognition awards and was named Praxair Corporate Fellow for the commercial impact of his inventions.

Mark has a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford and a Bachelor's degree with honors in Aerospace, Mechanical Sciences and Engineering Physics from Princeton. His academic awards include the SC award for most outstanding AS&ME research at Princeton and the Union Carbide Award for Academic Excellence and Leadership in Mechanical Engineering, also at Princeton.

Mark is a member of the Licensing Executive Society, the Connecticut Intellectual Property Law Association, and the Association of University Technology Managers. Mark is also a guest lecturer on patent prosecution strategies at New York Law School and new product development strategies at the UCONN School of Business.
